|At CHIREC we believe that it is at school that children are prepared to face the world.
We strive to provide students with a strong and holistic academic foundation – one that defines the course of a child’s future.
CHIREC’s philosophy traces its origin from “The Whole Child” concept.
“The Whole Child” concept is the framework for the development of the four key areas essential for shaping an all-round personality. Our unique system of learning helps students become all rounders who are versatile and confident. Through our time tested and innovative teaching methods children learn to be the best at whatever they do or whoever they choose to be .
FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
It is tempting for us in school education to gear our curriculum towards preparing sprinters in the game of life. Sprinters are exhilarating inside and outside school, and in an impatient world, more exciting to watch! But they also burn out faster and dont enjoy the view or help others while running due to a single-minded focus on the rope of 200m ahead
Schools of the 21st century like CHIREC International have consciously chosen to train students for marathons…not sprints! Life is long, complex and requires critical thinking alongside academic excellence. In the information age, students need to learn to sieve the wheat from the chaff. Curriculum assessment needs to help students ask the right questions and be prepared to answer not by habit or dogma but through intellectual insight.
The Cambridge and International Baccalaureate programs offered by us aim to make students deep and agile learners who target high academic achievement through a rigorous and stimulating curriculum. We also create opportunities for experiential learning and development of leadership skills through Community Service, Sports and Creative Pursuits. There is a significant part of learning that needs to be experienced to be better understood. Whether our students experience bio-diversity 18m under the Andaman Sea or exercise compassion in assisting senior citizens’ at shelters; they grow as students and responsible members of society.
And finally our CHIREC students are trained to reflect on the incredibly rich collection of experiences accumulated; inside and outside of school. Drawing lessons from experiences, admitting errors, gracefully appreciating a job well done and re-orienting focus when the paradigm shifts, are hall-marks of successful and effective people. Socrates (469 BC-399 BC) said that “The unexamined life is not worth Living” as a reminder that we must mentor students as lifelong learners not to muddle through life busy like robots but to have a “higher purpose in life” and the “intellectual capacity” to evaluate people and situations honestly.
We invite you to partner with us in this endeavour.
